Get setup with Asset.Guru and QuickBooks Online by following the steps below and you'll be able to take advantage of our integration in no time!
1. Link your Asset.Guru and QuickBooks Online accounts
✓ Navigate to the Admin page by clicking the cogwheel icon
✓ Expand the Connect your accounting application section and select the Connect to QuickBooks icon
✓ Enter your QuickBooks Online credentials when prompted
✓ Select Authorize
2. Set up your asset types
When a QuickBooks Online account is connected to Asset.Guru, the system automatically creates asset types based on the fixed asset accounts in QuickBooks Online. This means all you have to do is set a default depreciation schedule and map each asset type as follows.
✓ Select Edit on an asset type
✓ Set a default depreciation schedule for the asset type (recommended). If you don't wish to set do so, simply leave them as they are with the selection on None
✓ Select the appropriate general ledger account for the asset, depreciation and accumulated depreciation account from the drop down menus provided
Hint: If you can't find any of these accounts in a drop down menu, simply untick the Filter Accounts check box and try again
✓ Click Confirm
3. Set up your accounting rules
Review and confirm your accounting rules to allow Asset.Guru to automate your processes and make your life simpler. Make sure you:
✓ Review all the settings in this section
Hint: The default settings for each item under this section apply to most of Asset.Guru accounts. The three main settings to check are the Default Depreciation Averaging Method, the Journal Posting Start Date, and Enabled Integration Jobs.
