Can you scan barcodes into Asset.Guru ?

Yes, there are two easy ways get a barcode number into asset.guru.

Firstly - the fastest way is via the desktop (browser based) bulk asset upload process. You'll see a column for Serial numbers and Barcodes on the CSV template provided.

Secondly - use your iPhone to scan the barcode either as part of an audit of existing assets in Asset.Guru, or when adding an asset for the first time from the iPhone app. The iPhone app can be downloaded (by legacy customers) from the Apple App Store by searching for "Asset Guru". There is no charge to use the Asset Guru iPhone application for customers and trial users of Asset.Guru.

UPDATE: Asset.Guru is currently improving a major section of the platform from the ground up and as as a result the iPhone App is currently only available to legacy customers.A completely redeveloped mobile app is targeted for release sometime in 2026

Printing your own labels?

If you are wanting to plan ahead, Asset.Guru prefers (but is not limited to) the use of EAN-13 barcode standard which is the commonly used barcode for products sold at retail POS, or alternatively the GS1-128 barcode standard which is used by logistic applications (often printed on a SSCC Label (Serial Shipping Container Code).
