Asset.Guru Categories overview
Asset.Guru Categories provide support for Xero Tracking Categories and QuickBooks Online Classes.
Once categories are assigned to the assets, journals that are created from Asset.Guru to your accounting app can include the category details depending on the setup.
The general steps to enable categories for your assets and journals are straight forward:
- Refresh the connection of your accounting package with Asset.Guru
- Confirm the Admin accounting rules Journal Grouping Strategy and Journal Category Inclusion settings
- Add Category details to assets (individually or in bulk)
Keep in mind:
- Categories are independent of an asset's Asset Type and assigned on the individual assets.
- Only specific "Journal Grouping Strategies" provide the category details with the journals.
- Categories are not currently supported for Excel connected organisations.
